Having grown up in an Italian household with an extensive garden and homemade family dinners each night, Melissa has always been passionate about food. It was not until she began to experience digestive and dermatological ailments in her late teens that she saught the expertise of a Naturopathic Doctor; she began to use ‘food as medicine’ and, thanks to clinical nutrition along with other naturopathic modalities, Melissa was able to cure her ailments.
It was her own life-changing journey with naturopathy lead her to complete her Naturopathic Medicine degree in 2015. She has gone on to study a variety of complementary modalities including Biotherapeutic Drainage and Auricular Medicine with some of North America and Europe’s leading Medical and Naturopathic Doctors; these modalities assist Dr. Melissa in tailoring her prescriptions to the distinct needs of each individual, helping patients feel, look and perform at their best.
Having been born, raised, and educated in Toronto, Dr. Melissa is equipped to understand the unique health needs of the professional Torontonian. She is an advocate for her patients, and assists them in reaching all of their health goals using naturopathic foundations (nutrition, sleep, stress management, exercise, emotional wellbeing) along with sophisticated naturopathic medical practices including herbalism, Traditional Chinese Medicine + Acupuncture, and homeopathy.

BEST PIECE OF ADVICE SHE'S EVER RECEIVED:
Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.
AREAS OF FOCUS:
Although she maintains a general family practice seeing a range of ages and health concerns, Melissa has a clinical focus in digestion + clinical nutrition. Melissa’s philosophy is that “everything starts and ends in the gut” and when digestive health + nutrition are supported, all other concerns can be resolved or alleviated; this includes anxiety/mood disturbance, dermatological concerns + rapid aging, sleep imbalance, and chronic diseases. With good nutrition + digestion, fitness and movement can be optimized, energy levels improved, hormones balanced, and disease prevented.
